Location

The Town House at Brecon is situated in the centre of Brecon directly opposite Castle Bridge and the old Brecon Castle on the corner of Castle Street. What3words front door: ///enthused.sunshine.unimpeded Car park: ///traded.intrigued.logic

 

When approaching from the South on the A40 from the direction of Abergavenny/Newport or the North/East on the A470 from the direction of Talgarth/Hereford, from the major roundabout at the junction of the A40 Brecon Bypass and A470, please head towards Brecon Town Centre on the B4601; go straight over the first mini roundabout next to a Morrisions garage; at the next mini roundabout turn right onto the inner ring road Market Street, go straight over the first mini roundabout and set of traffic lights (passing Morrisons on the left), straight over the next set of lights and follow the road round to the left for a hundred yards and you'll find us at the junction of the next set of lights with the castle on your right. Market Street car park is next door to the B&B on your left.

When approaching from the South on the A470 from Merthyr/Cardiff and West on the A40 from Llandovery/Swansea, from the major roundabout at the junction of the A40 Brecon bypass and A470 please take the exit sign posted Brecon Town Centre; stay on this road for approx 1 mile until you cross the River Usk; staying on this road go straight over and bearing left at the traffic lights at the end of the bridge into Market Street and you'll find us a few hundred yards on the right hand side opposite the castle and next door to Market Street car park.

Checking In/Out

Check in: From 4pm until 9pm however, guests may register from 3pm and leave their luggage by prior appointment​.

Check out is 11am latest. Late checkouts may be charged.

Credit Information

We accept MasterCard and Visa Credit cards as well as all major Debit Cards. Unfortunately we do not accept Diners Cards or Amex. Additional costs and honesty bar bills will be settled at departure.

Cancellation Policy

​​By confirming a booking to stay with us, you are entering into a legal contract that is subject to our terms and conditions. The cancellation policy requires all amendments, curtailments and cancellations to be finalised 7 days prior to the booked arrival date. Any changes following this time will result in the full booking amount being charged to your debit/credit card for your stay unless the room is resold at the same rate (we can usually resell the rooms but not guaranteed). However, if cancelled within 24 hours, on the day of arrival or a 'no show' the total amount of the reservation will be charged with no refund. No allowances can be made to cover accommodation vacated before the end of the reservation or for meals not taken. We do advise the taking out of holiday insurance. Please note all changes to booking must be received in writing/email. Return of deposits is subject to this policy.

Force Majeure

If the hotel has to cancel any booking due to illness or bereavement, or closes due to adverse weather, flooding, fire or any circumstance deemed beyond our control whatsoever we will try, but not guarantee, to relocate all bookings and return all deposits wherever possible. We highly recommend all guests to take out holiday insurance at the time of booking.

 

Deposits

We reserve the right to charge a deposit (£20) to guarantee the reservation and to validate the credit/debit card. If the said credit/debit card deposit payment is rejected for whatever reason we will inform you of this immediately but reserve the right to cancel the booking at any time. We will charge the full reservation amount to this credit/debit card on departure unless notified.

Access Statement

The Town House is a near 200 year old Georgian town house over 5 floors. Access from the pavement into the Town House is on the ground floor via the front door and is level with no steps; access from the Market Street car park is up or down four steps. The breakfast/dining room and guest lounge is situated on the first floor up one flight of stairs. Room 1 - The Beacons & Room 2 – Priory View up one further flight of stairs on the 2nd floor and room 3 – Castle Keep, our luxury loft at the top of the house, is up a further short flight of steep stairs.  All the doors are of standard size. All our stairs have hand rails to assist.

We are very happy to assist any guest with any disabilities in any way possible.

Parking - Car park: ///traded.intrigued.logic

We are located next door to Market Street car park which is free overnight from 6pm to 8am. Parking is chargeable 7 days a week including Bank Holidays. Standard fees are £1 per hour, £4 all day. Parking Tickets can be purchased after 6pm for the following day. There are a number of car parks within a few hundred yards and two free car parks just a short walk away, please ask for details. Breakfast

A full cooked breakfast included in the room rate is served from 8am till 9.30am Monday - Friday and 9am till 10am Saturday and Sunday. We serve full Welsh cooked breakfasts and offer a vegetarian alternative. We are happy to cater for those with allergies or special requests with 24 hour notice or requested at time of booking. All breakfast produce is sourced as locally as possible within 15 miles of the B&B.

​Family Policy

We love to help our guests really get away from it all and relax, so regret that we cannot accept bookings for children under the age of 16 years at our Town House. All bookings for children aged 16-18 years must be secured by an adult and accompanied for their stay. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

​Pets

We regret that we are unable to accept pets.

Smoking

Strictly no smoking on the premises, the bedrooms, lounge or in the breakfast room. If you smoke in the bedroom you will be charged for one extra nights stay plus a cleaning fee to cover the cost of a deep cleanse to remove all traces of smoke.

​Muddy boots and walking gear

Washing muddy boots or soiled clothing in the sink or the bath tub very often causes blockage in the drains, so please, use the boot trays in the boot room to store or keep your boots and clothing etc off the floor instead of cleaning them. Any costs of plumbing work due to blocked drains will have to be forwarded to guests.

Honesty Bar

We operate a fully stocked honesty bar in the lounge. If you make use of this facility please complete one of the forms and the cost will be added to your bill payable at time of departure.

​Damage

Whilst a certain amount of 'fair wear and tear' is understandable and acceptable, breakages or damage to the Town House B&B deemed to be caused by neglect, negligence, drunkeness, wanton destruction or theft will be charged to the recipients account. This is non-negotiable and solely at the discretion of the management. We reserve the right to charge credit/debit cards for specialist cleaning of excessively stained bed linen, carpets, curtains, bathroom towels etc whether soiled or stained by bodily fluids or fake tanning products and will charge for full replacement costs if deemed beyond repair.

​Fire & Emergency

The Town House is fully equipped with fire prevention devices. For your additional safety, please familiarise yourself with the exit route and fire safety guides located in the guest information pack.

Doctors

If you need to contact a GP during your stay please contact the Brecon Medical Group Practice on Bridge Street (200 yards away over the River Usk bridge) T: 01874 622121.

Housekeeping

We reserve the right to enter your room at anytime for a reasonable purpose e.g. housekeeping, maintenance, repairs etc.

Since the onset of the Pandemic we only service rooms upon request. If you need fresh towels, tea cups, saucers etc please ask. Fresh cups and teas/coffees are in the dining room; filtered water, milk and complimentary goods will be replenished daily (usually available from smaller fridge under breakfast bar).

Iron & Board

An Iron and Board are available and located on floor 2, please ask or call reception on your internal phone.

Take away food

Take away food or alcohol are not permitted to be brought into the premises. Regrettably cleaning costs will be passed onto anyone who breaks this rule and leaves stains/spillages.

General Data Protection Regulations

 

We at the Town House at Brecon take your privacy seriously and will never sell, pass on or give away any data pertinent to you.

 

Financial data

When you make a booking with us we collect the names of all the guests who will be staying, the Home address, email address and telephone number of the person making the booking. We also collect a debit or credit card number to verify the booking. All financial data is deleted within 3 days of your credit/debit card being charged. Any personal address data provided whilst confirming your booking will never be used for any marketing campaign without your explicit consent.

 

Marketing

Occasionally we will send out information by email with news about the B&B, special offers and news about local events. If you would like to receive these emails or newsletter please use our contact details admin@brecontownhouse.co.uk and request this information or better still, ‘like’ us on our Facebook site ‘The Town House at Brecon’. We will keep your personal data secure and won’t pass it on to anyone else.

 

How we use the information we hold on you

We use your home address as part of the card payment processing to validate the card.

We will use your email address to send you confirmation of the booking and an email with more details on how to find us and other information you may find useful for your stay.

After your stay you will receive an automatic email from our booking system asking you to fill in a feedback form. We also send you an additional email checking everything was ok with your stay and offering you ways to stay in contact with us by social media or email if you choose to do so.

 

We will not use your telephone number to contact you unless it for an emergency and/or we have been unable to contact you by email.

 

How is your data stored

All of the personal and debit/credit card data you supply us, as part of the booking process, is stored securely on a third party system Little Hotelier. Neither we nor Little Hotelier will share your information with any third party unless there is a legal reason for doing so.

 

Access to your information

Cookies

Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log  information and visitor behaviour information. Booking a room or rooms at The Town House at Brecon signifies your acceptance of our terms and conditions. The owners and managers of The Town House at Brecon reserve the right to alter these terms and conditions at any time. A full print of our T&Cs, Wi-Fi and Privacy Policies are available in our information packs contained in each bedroom.
